3 Colours, Shapes and Textures that Inspire Me Lately
I haven’t done a sewing inspiration post for a while now and I love reading other blogger’s inspiration posts. I always tell myself to write the blog I would like to read, so here I go
Yellow Crush
I don’t know if it’s all those leaves and pumpkins everywhere but I am having a serious yellow crush. I want a yellow coat, yellow sweater, a pair of yellow doc martens and maybe a yellow scarf too :)
I love the used blanket texture and the over-sized fit of this Diane von Fustenberg coat.

Vintage Over-sized
I am really getting into oversized, androgynous shapes lately. This coat has the volume of a coat from the 80s, but the cut is cleaner. It would even be minimalistic if you ignore the red accent and shiny buttons. But I like those too :)

Grey Peter Pan Collars
Another two elements that seem to repeat in what I pin or see around and think: “I’ve got to make that!” are Peter Pan collars. Especially if they’re grey or attached to grey blouses. What I like about this top is that the wool makes it look stiff, but the cut and the roundness of the collar give it a certain sweetness. Nice contrast.

What about you? What shapes, cuts and textures do you love? What would you like to sew in the next few weeks?

I love the oversized coat and the whole androgynous style! And I’m really into yellow lately as well!I would love a chunky yellow knit!
I would love to sew more outwear this fall, maybe a parka. But I’m really intimidated by outwear in general!Thought I should give it a try!

[...] The shapes and cuts that inspire me lately are all oversized, almost boxy, with almost no pleats or darts. However, these garments seem to look nice only on tall, supper skinny, boyish frames. After ruining an oversized sweater I am asking myself if there’s any way to make oversized garments look good on shorter, more athletic frames. [...]
