Can a Sewist Own a Minimalist Wardobe?
I am procrastinating preparing for my fall closet organizing and as always I wish I had less stuff to move around and put back on hangers. Lately I started working towards keeping less clothes in my closet (I have archives :) and it generally kept me happier during summer. Yet fall asks for more layers, more clothes, more accessories, bigger, puffier things.
And my question is, can a sewist really have a minimalist wardrobe?

love this minimalistic wardrobe
I remembered this post on Apartment Therapy where this guy had a very cool, black and white and blue minimalistic studio and a beautiful wardrobe: just a place to hang his clothes, all in the three colours mentioned above. He seems to have 19 items in his wardrobe, not counting coats, accessories and undergarments.
I wonder if I could make it with 19 items :) Could you?

Oh no, I could NEVER have a minimalist wardrobe….I need colors, I need variety, I need OPTIONS! :-)

I’m working really hard on making my wardrobe functional all year round, and that might mean that I need to make it more minimalistic/cohesive. Does that make sense?
I’m pretty sure a sewist can have a minimalistic wardrobe. At the moment I’m trying to focus on a few big projects instead of making the same top ten times over. (Like I may or may not have done last summer.) I’m not sure I could do with only 19 items, though.

Makes a lot of sense actually. This fall I will stop making 4 pairs of pants and skirts I will never wear and try to do something “bigger” like a jacket or a nice dress.
Thanks for the comment
