Dear October, I’ve Missed You

Dear October,
I’ve missed you. I missed waking up on a Saturday with the sound of the rain, drinking hot chocolate and looking out the window. I missed wearing scarfs, my leather jacket and boots.
There’s a marshmallow hot chocolate recipe on the A Beautiful Mess blog that I’ve been waiting to make for a couple of weeks now. I am waiting for the temperature to go below 18 degrees to try it.
Last weekend I’ve been to Berlin and it was full autumn over there. Sidewalks full of leaves and that smokey smell they leave on the streets, a chilly wind that gets under your scarf if you don’t arrange it properly and lots of autumn veggies.

Autumn is quite different here in Barcelona. There aren’t so many yellow leaves around; you have to go look for them. or wait a bit more. The trees on my street are still dark green, there are pink and white flowers in people’s gardens and the wind is still warm.

After starting to sketch a few garments for the future cold season wardrobe last month, I am now closer to a sewing plan for October. I am also getting rid of more things I don’t wear anymore and still working towards having a minimalist wardrobe.
You can check out the stuff I pinned on my fall inspiration board on Pinterest. Are you pinning fall wardrobe related items? Drop me a comment with the link so I can follow you!
What about you? How is October in your part of the world?

October is when my maple trees start turning all yellow and bright orange, making my yard look beautiful! Well, that is until they drop all their leaves and then it is time to rake them all up…..*sigh*
