Last time she was here, my dearest Cristina gave me an earring she made by attaching a leaf of her plastic olive tree to an ear-hook she had. It looked just like a real leaf and it was really light and I loved it.
Just that the second day I wore it I lost it. The leaf flew in the wind, maybe never to be found and worn as an earring again.
So I decided to take the matter in my own hands and make myself new leaves. I used polymer clay (sculpey) and a real leaf from the tree kissing my terrace.
All I did was to model a leaf shape, then I pressed the leaf on the polymer clay and baked it for 10 minutes in the oven.
I painted two of them with acrylic paint because I thought the color of the clay was too “from the box”.
I then attached a jump-ring and an ear-hook and voilà: a leaf-shaped earring.

I love this! I think I may try this with some white polymer that I have. Oooo ooooo ooo! We should do feathers, too.
That’s a great idea! I have some silver sculpey, maybe I will try with that first 🙂
