Sunday Cooking: Crunchy, Bacony Un-pizza

The unpizza has a thin base, just like a pizza. But it’s not a pizza. The fun part comes with the dough base: it’s puff pastry dough!

You just need to go to you local supermarket and buy it, or you can spend three hours making your own:

Now, for the unpizza, you will need:

  • the puff dough
  • bacon mm bacon
  • artichoke hearts (you can use canned artichokes)
  • walnuts
  • cheese (I used mozzarella for the base and grana padano for topping)
  • dried wolfberries
  • pesto!

What to do:

Turn on the oven. Put it at 220 C / 428 F. Spread a thin layer of pesto over the dough. Snow with grated cheese. Cut the artichokes, and the bacon in small pieces. Arrange on top of the dough base. Sprinkle crushed walnuts and the wolfberries. Add a touch of pepper, salt and finely grated grana padano cheese. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
